Professional Biography:
Before joining UT Dallas, Dr Sheikh undertook postdoctoral research at Southern Methodist University and Arizona State University and held engineering positions in industry in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Bangladesh. His academic research and industry collaborations have resulted in more than 10 U.S. patents, 112 journal articles and refereed conference papers, and 30 completed funded research projects. Dr. Sheikh has received multiple university awards recognizing excellence in teaching, academic advising, and the use of instructional technology. Throughout his academic career, he has supervised, co-supervised, or examined 28 graduate theses in electrical engineering and mentored 20 undergraduate capstone projects.
