Biography
Dr. Salena Brody teaches a variety of courses including the Psychology of Prejudice, Workplace Psychology, Social Psychology, Introduction to Psychology, and Intergroup Emotion and Social Change. Her research interests include intergroup contact, cross-group friendships, and prejudice reduction. Dr. Brody serves as an Associate Director for the Center for Teaching and Learning at UT Dallas. She is the creator of the Short-term Working Group program that fosters collaborative work and meaningful faculty-student relationships. 
Dr. Brody is the 2022 winner of the University of Texas System's Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award, the 2022 UT Dallas President's Teaching Excellence Award and the 2021 winner of the Aage Moller Teaching Award for the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences. She is also the SPSSI Teaching Resource Prize winner for 2021, the SPSSI Innovative Teaching Award winner for 2018, a 2017 UTD Women Leading in Diversity honoree, and was the 2016-2017 Collin College Outstanding Professor of the Year. 

Dr. Brody is passionate about teaching at the intersection of history and psychology and is particularly interested in amplifying the work of historically disadvantaged and marginalized scholars in the field. Educated in Richardson public schools, Dr. Brody went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Boston College and her master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
