Research Areas

Research Activities
 Current research activities are in the areas of spectrum sharing between passive/active sensing and communications, communications resource designs and management, cross-layer capacity enhancement techniques, spectrum-agile systems, cooperative / relay systems, robust receiver algorithms under practical system impairments, MIMO, Massive MIMO, diversity techniques/systems, device-to-device or machine-to-machine communications.
 
 Target applications of current research are next-generation NGSO satellite communication and sensing systems, wireless PAN, LAN, MAN, RAN, LTE, LTE-Advanced, IMT-Advanced Systems, smart-grid, IoT / IoE, mmWave and THz communications.
 
 I serve as an Editor-at-Large for the IEEE Transactions on Communications since 2016 and served as an Editor for the same journal from 2005 to 2015.
 
 In addition to wireless and signal processing areas, I am also interested in research and development activities related to wireless health-care and quality-of-life enhancement technologies.
