Research Areas
Research Overview
The Vascular Mechanobiology Laboratory aims to understand and prevent the progression of cardiovascular diseases through the use of experimental and computational models. Experimentally, through studying cellular responses due to altered mechanical stimuli. Computationally, by creating models to predict arterial behavior and disease progression over time. Translationally, through couping mechanical properties of diseased vascular tissue to structure, function and potential risks. The research conducted in this lab aims towards increasing our understanding of vascular disease progression in order for better prevention and prognosis of vascular diseases.
